The Truth about Twitter Marketing
In order to counter spam Twitter has recently announced a new rule according to which a user cannot follow more than 1000 people in a single day. This means that it will become more difficult for existing marketers and web masters to increase the follower count. Most of the marketers all across the world believe that increasing the number of their followers on Twitter will increase their website’s visibility. But this method is pretty old and some of the most intelligent marketers have shifted their focus towards highly responsive audience. It was believed that following thousands of users in a day will provide you hundreds of followers for your account.
Most of the users at Twitter use auto follow tools which make them follow anyone who follows their account. It is true that you can get thousands of followers in a very short span of time but talking on the practical terms having thousands of followers that have no relation to your business or website is of no use at all. The marketer should be capable enough to find some real followers who have some interest in what you write. It has been seen that celebrities on Twitter have the most responsive audience as people are looking forward to read the tweets of their favourite stars. It is true that if you are not as famous it will be a little difficult for you to build a large group of responsive audience as you will have to generate some interest at first.
The best way to generate interest is to build a reputation in a specific field. Putting an interesting piece of copy on your Twitter account will fetch you more responses. Gradually as you become a known name on Twitter you will notice that more and more people related to your domain will start following you. For increasing responsiveness of your account you should start responding to other people so that they know that you are interested in what they are saying. Once you gain a certain amount of credibility of the users your account will start receiving more responses.
Always try and make followers who have the capacity to help your business grow or those who can be potential buyers of the product. If you have highly responsive Twitter followers then you can easily popularize your website through them. Having thousands of followers who dont pay attention to your tweets will hardly fetch you any traffic but having hundreds of responsive followers will market your site in a better way.
